James Wright (1927-80) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet known for lyrical verse that explored themes of isolation, redemption, and the American Midwest. According to the Poetry Foundation, he has been "frequently referred to as one of America's finest contemporary poets. He was admired by critics and fellow poets alike for his willingness and ability to experiment with language and style, as well as for his thematic concerns." The three works in this collection span a large part of Wright's career and show the evolution of his style. 1) WRIGHT, JAMES; WILLIAM DUFFY, and ROBERT BLY. THE LION'S TAIL AND EYES.
