Item description from seller

Captain John Hardie set up his ship building company in 1876 and it ceased trading in 1923. Mowat has produced a meticulously researched account of the adventures of all J Hardie & Co's vessels during the twilight era of sailing ships. He has signed the title page with a modest inscription - no dedication. Illustrated b/w with many fascinating photographs plus maps and diagrams. In excellent clean condition throughout. All profits to Amnesty International.
