The inside of the rear cover is printed with a Map of Knutsford 1899.Stapled booklet in tan wrappers printed in brown with a photograph on the front cover of Princess Street at the turn of the century. Just hints of wear to extremities, covers clean and bright, corners square and flat, no rust on the staples, Addendum slip bound in at rear of volume, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Knutsford is a market town in Cheshire, England located 14 miles (23 km) south-west of Manchester. Among other claims to fame, Knutsford is allegedly named after King Canute, the king of England (1016?1035) and later king of Denmark, Norway and parts of Sweden as well. Knutsford was the place in which General George S. Patton, shortly before the Normandy invasion, delivered a speech perceived to be critical of the Soviets, and to have "slapped" the face of every one of the United Nations except Great Britain", which nearly ended his career.
