A manuscript penned by John Hurdiss of Stonington, Connecticut, and found in an old desk of a shipping office is the basis for this autobiographical story. Signed presentation from Barnes on the front endpaper: "To James L. [Farr?] from the [two illegible words], James Barnes. June 6, 1897." A very scarce title! Very Good (spine cocked with little discoloration to front cover; contents clean & tight, covers & spine bright). $185.00.
