Original illustrated cloth with titles in gilt on spine and black outline on cover, uncut edges, some mild spotting here and there and on endpapers, WITH loosely inserted a short note on "Beechcroft, Berkhampstead" embossed headed paper "Dear Miss Pruitt, With much pleasure, yours. WW Jacobs. 26th Aug 1901? A lovely copy of this scarce 1st edition. NOTE * This collection of 12 tales contains the 1st printing of the classic horror story "The Monkeys Paw" (even had an edition of the Simpson's in on the tale). We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
