Signed by the author on a tipped-in page. Evergreen cloth covered boards with gilt-stamped lettering and gilt outline of Lake Pontchartrain on the front board panel; gilt lettering and graphics on spine. Upper external page edges are tinted. Two-toned map illustrations on end papers. Small amount of scuffs and crimps along edge at head and tail of board spine. Minimal scuffs on fore-edge corners. External side and lower edges are age-toned as are text pages. No internal marks or tears. Text block is sound. Dust jacket is scuffed and lightly soiled overall. Upper edge at jacket head has several chips and with loss of approx. 1 1/8" by up to 3/8" and with adjacent creases and rubs. Lower edge at tail of jacket spine is chipped across width and up to 3/16". Lower left corner on back jacket panel has two closed tears of 1 1/4" and 1" with connecting diagonal creases and an old tape repair for stabilization. Upper edge on back jacket panel has several small closed tears of 1/4" or less, and shallow horizontal creases. Lower edge of front jacket panel has several small chips and shallow diagonal creases. Fore-edge corners are rubbed and with loss or closed vertical tears. Front flap has a small price clip of approx. 1 3/4" by 1".
