Hardly one of your more prolific authors, Ella Leffland has produced, in the thirty years from 1970 to 2000, five novels and this collection of short stories. All her work is very highly regarded and the title story from this volume was a winner of the 1977 O. Henry Award. Eleven of the fourteen stories here were first published in various periodicals. This first printing is inscribed and signed by the author on the half-title: "For Barbara with best wishes - Ella Leffland". There's a remainder dot on bottom edges, but a near fine copy in a very good dust jacket indeed, minimally worn on edges with a hint of darkening to spine panel. MC.
