8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Signed and inscribed by all but one member of the original Broadway cast, including Pauline Lord - to whom Sidney Howard dedicated the book. Howard wrote the play as a vehicle for Pauline Lord, star of 'They Knew What They Wanted' and a living legend for her 1921 performance as O'Neill's Anna Christie. The signatures appear on pages [vi/vii], on and opposite the printed cast of characters. The book is signed by the following members of the Broadway opening cast from Henry Miller Theatre, October 31st, 1932: Adelaide Bean Walter Connolly (who signed twice) George Coulouris Clarence Derwent Katherine Hirsch Ernest Lawford William Lawson and Pauline Lord. The book is not signed by Beulah Bondi. The play is the basis for the 1933 MGM film by Sam Wood, starring Marie Dressler, Lionel Barrymore, Helen Mack, Beulah Bondi and Russell Hardie. Original red cloth stamped in gilt (slight fading). A rare cast-signed by of this classic Sidney Howard play. Seller Inventory # 00545618
