Unique publication of 166 letters from some of the major participants of the American Revolution on a variety of subjects including financial matters, army supplies, personal antagonisms, and military campaigns. Contents include correspondence from George Washington, Lord Cornwallis, Nathaniel Greene, Francis Rawdon, Henry Laurens, Benjamin Lincoln, William Smallwood, Aaron Burr, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, etc. Light wear to heads and tails of spines. Volume one has no dust jacket and is no. 10 of a limited edition of 200 copies published in 1941. Volume two has a fair chipped dust jacket with edge tears and is no. 10 of 500 copies printed in 1952. Both volumes inscribed by the editor. Pages untrimmed. Black and white illustrations.
