Quarter bound in polished blue morocco over cloth. The leather spine is quite worn with losses to the spine ends and cracks and rubbing to the edges. The front inner hinge is a little cracked resulting in the looseness of the first endpaper. The text is bright and clean.This copy was presented to author William Dean Howells with a full page handwritten letter tipped in from Steuart to Howells and dated October 1890.
