Fine in decorated paper covered boards with gilt text stamped on the spine and blue text and decorations on the front board. A small quarto measuring 9 3/4 by 7 inches. In a fine, unclipped dust jacket although the spine area is faded. Signed by the author on the title page just above his printed name without a date or inscription. 295 pages with index of text, black and white photographs and period maps relating to shipwrecks and the Life Saving Service on Nantucket. A very fine, bright and clean copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind.
