Add to basketThe author inscribed this volume to Philip Gerber who was a Professor at Brockport University, Brockport, New York, and wrote several books on Theodore Dreiser. Mr. Gerber also wrote books on Robert Frost, Bachelor Bess, Willa Cather, and language. This writer obtained this volume from Mr. Gerber's estate. The inscription is on the front free end paper in black pen. There is also another owner's signature on the front free end paper in ink. The blue and gray boards are sunned along the edges, and the spine cover is also sunned. The boards are exposed at the corners are soft, and show a bit of fraying at the bottom. The boards also show some light soiling, marks. The top dyed blue edges are unevenly colored and there is light toning to the other edges. The 259 pages of the volume are without pencil marks, highlighting, underlining or marginalia. This volume has the October, 1954 statement on the copyright page and 1954 on the title page.
