A rare fine first printing with the usual tanning having an unobtusive stain to the rear board hidden by a likewise unclipped dust wrapper with the original price of 12s6d intact, having taped repairs to the inside, applied more, I suspect, to prevent the tiny nicks to the extremities becoming actual tears. aA neat previous owners name is present to the rear end paper, nevertheless this most pleasing copy is SIGNED by Alan Sillitoe to the title page, an elusive signature indeed.
