The Beloit Poetry Journal Chapbook No. 1. Hughes' translation of Frederico Garcia Lorca's Gypsy Ballads. Wraps. Presumed first and only edition. Illustrated by John McNee, Jr. A presentation copy, inscribed by Hughes on the front cover verso: "Happy Holidays to the Ralph Satz, Sincerely, Langston, Christmas 1951." Wraps have a tanned spine and tanning to top edges of front and back covers. Small rubber stamp on lower left front cover states Property of Ralph Satz. Inside clean, stapled binding tight. We believe this may be the copy once belonging to New York musician Ralph Satz. Not too many copies of this to be found; very scarce, particularly Signed/Inscribed.
