Signed and inscribed on half-title page by Gerald Stern: For ___ and ___ - with love - & a great memory of one fine summer - Jerry- July 4, 1982. Book and DJ are fine. Original DJ with $6.95 price intact on flap. Laid-in rear is a small archival sleeve holding a two-part newspaper story about Gerald Stern and the film Lucky Life premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film is based off of Gerald Stern's celebrated poem Lucky Life, about summer friends, first published in a book of the same name (this book.). The feature film would become Oscar-nominated director Lee Isaac Chung first film; and nominated for a jury award for best narrative feature at the Tribeca Film Festival as well as a nomination for the Grand Prix at the Bratislava International Film Festival. Gerald Stern would author more than 20 books of poetry, and along the way he'd collect the Paris Review's Bernard F. Conners Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship and four NEA grants, to just name a few.
