First edition. Spine mildly soiled, minor shelf wear, crease to the lower spine, else a very good copy; internally clean; lacking the dust jacket. Inscribed and SIGNED by the author (as Charley Grapewin) to the front endpaper. The author Charles Ellsworth Grapewin (1869-1956), was a vaudeville and circus performer, writer, and stage and film character actor who worked in over 100 modern pictures who is best known to modern audiences for portraying Uncle Henry in MGM's film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz (1939). A scarce novel of romance, financial success and gambling. Charley Grapewin's signature is quite rare.
