Item description from seller

Privately published, Printed by William Clowes and Sons, London, [1887]. Octavo, 257pp, frontispiece portrait. Leather and gilt binding, gilt title to spine, edges and corners shelf worn, patterned end papers, binding loosening up to page 3. Inscription by author to title page, no other marks, internally immaculate. Very Good. Primrose, (8/9/1848-9/4/1885) served in the Grenadier Guards and as the Military Attache at Vienna. He was the brother of Archibald Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. His mother who is the author was a very close companion to Queen Victoria and was bridesmaid at her wedding. Very rare. No other copies for sale, only found in libraries.
