Kisho Kurokawa was a leading Japanese architect and the founder of the Metabolist Movement who has won over ten awards, including the 2005 Walpole Medal of Excellence, 2005 Shungdu Friendship Award, and 2006 International Architecture Award. Metabolism in Architecture is a manifesto of the Metabolist Movement, an architectural movement that fused ideas about architectural megastructures with those of organic biological growth.
