A particularly desirable copy of Erna Fergusson’s early and influential collection of Mexican recipes, notable for the author’s inscription and the additional signature of illustrator Valentin Vidaurreta. The original dust jacket, increasingly scarce in collectible condition, is preserved here in a protective mylar cover. Fergusson’s work represents an early effort to document and introduce authentic Mexican cooking to a wider American readership, reflecting the growing cultural and culinary interest in the American Southwest during the early twentieth century. Provenance is further distinguished by an ex-libris label from the Taos, New Mexico Public Library on the front endpaper. The book is otherwise clean, square, bright, and tight.
