This first edition is signed by Conroy, the great writer of proletarian literature, who takes an unusual turn in this wonderful anthology of both famous and not-so-famous writers, some of whom come right out of the WPA State writings. The book is in very good+ shape with some minor whitening on top and bottom of spine and bottom of back cover. The dustjacket has the added bonus of an original 1947 Christmas Seal stamp on the flyleaf. Jacket also has some water damage on back and chipping on top and bottom of spine and top of front cover, but is complete.
