SIGNED. 445pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Black cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine. There are a number of very faint stains to the top and fore-edge of the text block (these do not penetrate to the margins of the pages). In the dust jacket, with trivial sunning to the spine, light edgewear, and thin faded strips along the edges of the inside flaps. The first volume in Nichols' New Mexico Trilogy. Nichol's Milagro Beanfield War was adapted into a movie with the same name, directed by Robert Redford. Signed by Nichols on the title page. With a letter from the author to bookman and publisher Ernie Bulow laid in. Nichols has signed the letter with his first name at the foot.
