This study follows Prince George, Second Duke of Cambridge, through his military career. Through this cousin of Queen Victoria, the book explores the changing relationship between the military and the British monarchy during the Victorian era.
Kevin W. Farrell is an associate professor of history at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, where he oversees the military history program. A 1986 graduate of West Point, he earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University in New York City. Also a colonel in the U.S. Army, has commanded at the platoon, company, and battalion level with extensive combat and leadership experience in the Balkans, Afghanistan, and as a battalion commander in Iraq. He is married to the former Sheila Newman of Lugoff, South Carolina, and together they have three children.
