First printing. 8vo. Frontispiece photograph. vii, 404 pp. Map endpapers. Original blue cloth binding. INSCRIBED by the author on the title page: "For Barney Fielden | with the writer's compliments | Majid Khadduri." Grant "Barney" Fielden was an intelligence officer for the State Department and had many high-level posts in Africa in the 60s-80s. Also laid in is a TLS dated 4 February 1965 to Fielden from Mustafa Ben Halim, thanking him for gifts and wishing him well. This is a tight, fine book in a very good DJ with shallow chips at the spinal extremities. Uncommon signed.
