The first UK edition, eighth impression of this work in the publisher's original pictorial card wraps. Flat signed by the author to the title page. The English writer Laurie Lee (1914-1997) was best known for his semi-autobiographical trilogy, Cider with Rosie, As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning, and A Moment of War.This last book of his semi-autobiographical trilogy deals with Lee's return to Spain in December 1937, to join the Republican International Brigades. Some critics have questioned the historical accuracy of the book; Lee himself wrote that he relied on memory, as his diaries had been stolen.Illustrated by Keith Bowen.
