Book would be NF except for some toning on end papers (see scan). Jacket has edge and corner wear with some small chips and tears,and the spine is missing. Now protected in Mylar. This is an extended poetry series that comes from Hughes' most anthologized poem. This copy is inscribed to Martha Jane Gibson , an English professor at Talledega College in Alabama, where Hughes seems to have visited several times in the early 1950's . Very nice bold inscription and dated signature. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 75 pages; Signed by Author.
