This small first edition is bound in a dark blue cloth with gilt stamping to the spine and upper. All pages are clean and bright as are the illustrations. Copy is signed by the artist herself with a dedication, "Durham NC 12/9/07 - Di, To a fellow moon gazer from Eve with love, Eve", with a crescent moon drawn in pen on title page. Dust jacket is in very good condition. A nice copy to inspire fellow artists and moon lovers.

Synopsis

Moon Book carries the subtitle "A Pictorial Journal of a Year of Painting the Full Moon." The author and artist, Emily Eve Weinstein, has followed the full moon to rooftops, mountains and roadsides, before an angry ox's horns and inside a tippy rowboat. The result is the series of full moon paintings published in the book. Over 140 paintings were created over the course of a year, and 71 color plates (with anecdotes) are featured in the book.

About the Author

Emily Eve Weinstein was born in 1955 in Newburgh, New York. Her formal art education took place in France, England and Richmond, Virginia. She resides in Durham, North Carolina, where she has co-designed a studio/gallery/house out of aerated cement and recycled materials. An active environmentalist, Weinstein is also a devoted animal lover, and surrounds herself with many valued pets.
