Moortown, Ted Hughes, first edition, Faber, 1979; a fine copy. Signed and inscribed by Ted Hughes, with a wonderful hand-written off-the-cuff poem to paste-down endpaper: 'This is a silly Way to gild a lily. More strokes of the same pen Gild it again. Add two more lines to those four Gild it some more.' Inscribed on the front free endpaper: 'For Bernie, greetings and thanks again for continued gallantry in the face of the enemy.' The poet has also made pen corrections by hand to three errata in the poems. Book has very bright red and clean cloth boards, firm corners, firm spine tip, lightly pushed spine foot; no knocks to the boards. Book is firm and square. Toning to the pages as is common with this title. No marks or ownership names within the book. Protected in mylar, the jacket is not price-clipped and is in excellent condition, without sunning to the spine. Errata slip loosely inserted. Seller Inventory # ABE-1654796945280
