About this Item
4to. Stiff glossy pictorial wrappers. 80pp. Illustrations, numerous advertisements (many color and full page). Near fine. Faintest of wear to outer wrappers (only). Handsome full issue of the July 20, 1968 issue of "The New Yorker." Among its usual array of fiction and nonfiction, poems and essays, is the first appearance of Bellow's short story "Mosby's Memoirs" (pp. 36-49), which would be published later that same year in Bellow's first short story collection, "Mosby's Memoirs and Other Stories." On the upper right corner of the front wrapper, Andre Francois' color rendering of a flock of birds, Bellow signs boldly in blue ballpoint. Unusual in this form. Seller Inventory # 50023
