MOUNTAIN MAN by Verne Bright, hardcover in dustjacket; Published by The Caxton Printers Ltd, Caldwell, Idaho, 1948. 1st printing. SIGNED Limited Edition. Numbered 374 of 500 copies, Gilt-stamped cloth. 190pp. also INSCRIBED to Harold H. Story. Story appears at one time to have taught Bright as the inscription described. A separate letter from Bright to Story, gives a brief biographical background of Bright , then asks Story if he could get this book-Mountain Man- reviewed in the Los Angeles papers, Harold Hadley Story (1893-1963) was a reporter for newspapers in Tucson, Arizona, and Los Angeles, California, taught night school and UC Extension classes, did public relations work for Los Angeles Municipal Airport (known as Mines Field), and worked for the administrations of Los Angeles Mayors Frank Shaw and Fletcher Bowron. Verne Bright (1893 -1977 ) was an Oregon author of poetry who also worked as a newspaper reporter, and as an English teacher.
