Very fine in a very fine jacket. Opened only for his signature (his name only, no other inscriptions). A novel, set in Istanbul between 1975 and 1984, tells the love story between a wealthy businessman, Kemal, and a poorer distant relative of his, Fusun. Pamuk established an actual "Museum of Innocence," based on the museum described in the novel, housed in a building in the Cukurcuma neighbourhood of Beyoglu, Istanbul, which displays a collection evocative of everyday life and culture of Istanbul during the time period of the novel. This book immediately went into several printings. This is the first printing. Maureen Freely, translator. Shipped in a well padded box. Defect-free, smoke-free. You cannot find a better copy.
