First Edition. Very good clean condition with light foxing on the edges, away from the images. On the original thick woven demy paper. Engravings are 21 cm x 27 cm. From the Cyclopaedia by Rees, published in 1820. Photographs of the original engravings can be provided on request. Hand signed with monogram on the back of each plate, probably by publisher or Lowry. Featured are following musical notation titles: Modern Time-Table, Graces and Marks of Expression, Arpeggio, Thorough Base or Accompaniment, Disallowances in Thorough Base, Counterpoint, ( over 10 plates ), Double Counterpoint in the Octave, Modulation, , Example of the Pathetic Genius, Fingering, Shakes, Air upon three Notes, by M. Rousseau in his own hand writing, Original Melodies to the Hymn of Ossian in Temora, Canon. These careful and intricate plates are things of beauty in their own right. Paperback. No dj.
