Edges of cloth boards and spine faded, rear spine joint worn through the cloth but secure, lettering dull but a fair copy in a good dust jacket. Jacket complete with marginal closed tears and wear. First edition, first impression. With the author's signed presentation inscription on his armorial bookplate pasted in at the front, "To A. J. Richardson Esq. with the author's compliments, P. C. Wren". Loosely inserted is the publisher's compliments slip giving details of the book's publication. Approximately 7 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine fair condition faded, brown titles, minor wear. Joints fair condition worn, rear joint is worn through the cloth at the top, secure. Corners good condition minor wear. Boards good condition faded at the edges, titles to front board. Dust jacket good condition closed tear to the base of the front joint, worn and frayed to the edges, colour gently faded to the spine. Page edges good condition tanned, page edges from 209 to 224, worn to the top and darkened. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition secure. Paste downs good condition front paste down with the bookplate of PC Wren and his signature to the bookplate, gently tanned. End papers good condition gently tanned.
