Add to basketFirst edition, first printing. Inscribed "for my friend David Robeck, Clay Fisher, Will Henry" on the half-title. "A sinister novel of gold, gravel, and white man's greed" set in the Yukon. It served as the basis of the 1996 Nils Gaup film starring James Caan, Christopher Lambert, and Catherine McCormack. Under the pen names Will Henry and Clay Fisher, Henry Wilson Allen (1912-91) wrote more than 50 novels of the American West, as well as numerous screenplays and scripts for animated shorts. Octavo. Original gray buckram boards over a black cloth spine, with gilt stamping. Just a hint of edgewear to the dust jacket, with some sun fading along the spine. Better than very good.
