Inscribed by Layton on the ffe.: "For my friend Sophie, [Sophie (Sigmund) Loussco] / Irving Layton / April 14, 1948". Contains both poems & stories. A very good or better bright copy with spine split. Content clean and fresh and without names, marks, writing or blemish. There were only a handful of First State copies. Rare.
