This handsome book was issued with French flaps. It is a first edition and was a great hit when published. It remains fresh as paint today, and is a welcome retort to all the pretentious artspeak journalists who sing so relentlessly from the same songsheet. Refreshing as it was at the time, it is now prophetic and utterly worth reading. This is a NEW copy of the first printing, unread of course, and Charles Saatchi has signed on the front endpaper. If you examine the back cover of the book you will see two slight indentations, one on each side of the author's photograph. This is the only fault. It's frankly too slight to bother any sane person but I thought I'd mention it.

About the Author

Charles Saatchi founded the Saatchi & Saatchi advertising agency in 1970, which quickly grew to become the largest in the world. He started collecting art at about the same time and opened his first public gallery, a 30,000 sq. ft. ex-paint factory in Boundary Road, London, in 1985. His new gallery occupying the 70,000 sq. ft. Duke of York HQ in Kings Road, London opened in October 2008.
