First UK Edition. SIGNED by the author on the title page. A collection of stories that includes the first appearance of "The Misfits" (as a short story), basis for the 1961 John Huston film, starring Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift. An extremely scarce title. Fine and unread in a Very Good plus price-clipped dust jacket. Jacket has a small chip to the bottom rear panel, and a few small closed tears along the top edge, neatly reinforced on the verso with two pieces of cello tape, otherwise bright and unfaded.
