Octavo, 223pp, [1]. Red hardcover, black cloth spine. The first printing, with a full number line. Appears unread. In the publisher's fine dust jacket, $17.95 retail price on front flap. Signed by George F. Will on the front free endpaper, with the Kroch's & Brentano's belly-band. Written in advance of the 1988 presidential election, Will examines the campaign as an open contest in both parties, following the end of Ronald Reagan's second term and the absence of an incumbent president on the ballot. Will worked as a nationally syndicated columnist for The Washington Post beginning in 1974 and won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1977.
