A sought after work and uncommon in dust jacket. Frontispiece of Pat Keogh, to whom the books is dedicated. Contents include football criticisms, how to play the game and reflections. "The thought of writing a small book on Rugby Football has often come across my mind during the last twenty-five years, when I have been reading from time to time the rubbish which accounts itself football history in most books on the subject written in New Zealand.Some little book of the sort has to be written by somebody, and I propose to save other people the trouble " (preface). Bagnall H1505. 12mo., approx 6x4", 128pp, frontis, b&w plates and some text illustrations. Publishers tan cloth boards with black lettering on front board. Inscribed on the ffep "To Bryan From Uncle Watty 17-5-43". Dust jacket a bit marked with chips from dj spine ends and a couple of corners.
