Gift quality, author signed, new old stock stapled paperback in tan card covers. Tips sharp, no writing inside except for authors signature on title page (not dedicated to anybody in particular). Thirteen pages are crisp and tight, no rust on staples. Not a numbered copy. Eugene V. Connett began his second publishing career in 1948 by joining D. Van Nostrand and Company and developing The Van Nostrand Sporting Books. Over the next sixteen years Connett designed and or edited at least fifty-eight for the series. Many of the books reflect Connett's associations from the Derrydale years, 1927-1942. All of the Van Nostrand Sporting Books were issued with dust jackets. In all cases, Connett's role in the book is stated on the verso of the title page as is the state of the edition. Many of the Van Nostrand Sporting Books, especially the sailing books offered through the Sailing Book Club, were issued in numerous edition. The prices listed in this guide are for first editions in very fine condition, dust jackets present. Books in very fine condition should show no faults whatsoever, no matter how small the defect or defects may be.…
