About this Item
First edition and first printing of Tim O'Brien's fourth novel. It is an extraordinary work. The author takes us to a future 1995 where William Cowling has been obsessing and accommodating his fears for decades and so he begins digging a hole, a bomb shelter, in his back yard to protect his family. Nothing goes as planned. The novel is funny, the humor dark and edgy and hard to forget. Book condition: Fine, as new unread. Pages are clean. Binding is tight. Mustard yellow boards, green cloth spine with gold lettering. Dust Jacket: Illustrated by Renee Klein. Condition NFine. Unclipped with only slight chip/tear edge wear. Protected in archival cover.
