Quarto, 127pp., plus many unnumbered pages of photographs at rear. The photographic contributions are from Richard Avedon, Anthony Crickmay, Cecil Beaton, and many others. A fine, crisp copy in the publisher's balck cloth, with the inner hinges just barely starting, but holding. In a near fine dust jacket, age-toned on the spine and with a flattened crease on the front flap, else very nice. This copy SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Nureyev on the half-title page to Roy Moseley, the British celebrity biographer: "To Roy with my very best wishes Rudolph Nureyev." A gift inscription addressed to Roy in the year of publication is present on the front free endpaper. A nice copy of this lovely book, with a contemporary inscription. Seller Inventory # 11465

A solid overview of the life and artistic career of the 20th century's foremost male ballet dancer, including this defection from the Soviet Union to the west, but the real glory of this volume is the collection of photographic illustrations depicting Nureyev at work and dancing with the likes of Yvette Chauvire, Margot Fonteyn and Alla Sizova.
