Item description from seller

SIGNED on the half title by the author, Anthony Summers. First Edition, preceding the American Penguin edition. First Printing. 528pp. 8vo, sewn binding in black paper over board hard covers. Exceedingly clean and sharp, a FINE copy in NEAR FINE jacket with just a short tear to the front DJ fold at head. A controversial and daring expose, Summers's biorgraphy of the infamous FBI director brought hard-hitting evidence of Hoover's abuses of power, as well as surprising revelations about his private and sectual life.
