'The Signed 99-Copy Blue Oasis Leather 1st Edition.' Gypsy Lou Series #3. [2], 101, [5] pp. + original photograph of Henry Miller by Ina Paulandre + 4 leaves of Japanese lace tissue. 4to, Silver cloth backed in blue morocco leather lettered and ruled in gilt. SIGNED by Henry Miller on a rear blank leaf d. 9/5/66. 'Written in 1937-38 in Paris, this book was penned without carbon & gifted as a long intimate book letter to the painter Hans Reichel,' with a self-portrait and several reproductions of Reichel's drawings. Printed in blue, red, and black ink on handmade paper, prelims staggered with dyed fore edges. Some trivial offsetting to leather-adjacent paper, else FINE in FINE dust jacket and FINE slipcase with mounted cork. An altogether terrific production. 'Designed, edited, printed, and hand bound by Loujon Press editors Louise and Jon Webb. The type, handset and distributed after each page was printed: Van Dijck, Cochin Light, and Goudy Thirty from Mackenzie and Harris of S.F., Librar Light from Amsterdam Continental Types, Lilith from Bauer Alphabets. The text papers, handfed to Loujon's ancient 8 x12 C&P Letterpress: Gainsborough 80lb white; others handmade in Italy (Fabriano & the Florentine), Japan (De Lacy Net, Dewdrop & Sakuragami tissues), and Portugal (the corks).'.
