Full leather binding with gilt title on front board and spine; boards are pliable; fore edge deckled, top edge gilt. Boards have light wear and chipping to all edges and spine; light toning to edges; some leaves are uncut. This was the author's copy of his first published book and includes a prospectus, laid in. Witter Bynner's bookplate on front pastedown and author's initials and date "November 21 1907" written in ink on front endpaper. An Ode to Harvard, came out in 1907 and became Witter Bynner's first published book. From the prospectus, this poem was "a personal interpretation, in verse, of undergraduate life and sentiment, of the little things that mean much and the big things with which they are connected." ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 119 pp; Signed by Author.
