From the library of Lois Walcott Kellogg Jessup, with the noted philanthropist's ownership signature and scattered notations. Lois Jessup (1898-1986) worked tirelessly for the American Friends Service Committee, the U.S. Children's Bureau (preparing reports on children in Europe during Second World War, and the United Nations, advocating for women's rights. She married Philip C. Jessup, a judge on the International Court of Justice and veteran U. S. diplomat, credited with playing a major role in ending the Soviet blockade of West Berlin.
