Bookshop sticker inside cover, deckle fore edge, pulling away slightly at front hinge otherwise binding tight, top corner wear front and back. First edition, signed copy. Very Good condition. Dust jacket not price-clipped, wear and slight wrinkling and tearing to top and bottom edges and tail cap, covered in archival mylar. Good condition. Please refer to photos for condition. Set in the Mojave Desert this book tells the story about the friendship between a wise old shepherd and a young boy and two brave dogs. Ramon is in charge of the boy over the season of caring for sheep. The boy watches and learns from Ramon. "Old Ramon is as much a part of the plains as a gnarled juniper, a man who is wise in the ways of sheep, and the ways of men and of boys who are becoming men." By the author of Shane.
