Book pristine and flawless: it is square, hinges tight, corners not bumped, no dings on edges, head and heel of spine lightly undamaged, interior clean and unmarked; no page corners folded or damaged; no staining or discoloration. Jacket is also pristine and flawless: it is clean; no tears, folds or fading; no creases at head or heel of spine; raised letters of author s name and title and nautilus shell on front panel evident (they have not been crushed); 1-1/2" circular black-on-gold "SIGNED FIRST / EDITION" sticker on front panel above the "gin" of the title; publisher's original price of "U.S. $29.95 / CAN $38.50" listed on the upper right corner of front flap. Condition of book and jacket consistent with being brand new not read. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book or jacket such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage that would diminish its appearance. No remainder mark, no previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book. Signed by the author in medium black felt pen on a publisher s tipped-in signature page immediately after the FFEP with the author s signature in thin black pen; the books were available before his program at 7 PM at Saint Louis County (Missouri) Library headquarters on October 4, 2017.
