First edition. Color illustrations by the author. Oblong 4to. First edition, inscribed with a drawing of a goblin offering a flower, "To Sylvia, with all my love! Maurice. July '81." The recipient is Sylvia Milgram (d. 2000), museum coordinator at MOMA and Sendak's close friend. Hanrahan A110 Publisher's red cloth. Fine in pictorial dust-jacket (light edgewear) Color illustrations by the author. Oblong 4to.
