Signed by Author(s) A fine book in a near fine DW. This is a first edition/first impression of the authors first book of his memoirs, of his fine work for SOE behind enemy lines in France during WW2. He went on to produce a further three books. He worked with Odette in the South of France, and was married to her when this book was published, but they would later separate. The book is fine, it has an inscription by a previous owner, dated 1953, on the front pastedown and the pages are bright and clean and unmarked. The DW has some light creasing along top edge, light fading to spine but is NOT priceclipped. The book is signed without inscription on the titlepage. Signed simply, Peter Churchill.
