This is the incredible saga of Delia Craig and her pioneering family settled down in the Kenyan wilderness of Lewa on the slopes of Mount Kenya over a hundred years ago. They took the huge challenge of taming the bush teemed with Elephants, Rhino, Lion, Leopard, impala, Bush buck and other game to build a farm that stretched thousands of acres. In the past several decades Delia and her husband Craig ran the farm successfully and accommodated all the wildlife there instead of killing them. This area became Lewa Coservancy and became a haven for endangered wildlife including the Rhinos. The author Natasha Breed stayed with Delia and her husband several months to record Delia s years of experience there, and it is a delightful account of a pioneering family that withstood the incredible odds throughout to survive.
